Kamala das Surayya nee Madhavikutty is one of the first indian to write short stories in English, she is the Malayalam writer and poetess and also a painter who was 75 old has passes away in the hospital in pune, she has suffered with respiratory problems from the last few weeks has taken last breath at 1.55 am.Kamala was born in very rich family her mother was also a popular poetess, Kamala had been in many controversies of her content writing and in sex scandel later she converted to islam religion and she triedto donate some of her property in kerala as small temple named Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP).
Kamala has left the city of Kerala and went toPune to settle with herthree son’s Jayasuray Dasand, Monu Nalapat and Chinnan Das she finally won the transaction of the land in her last stage.Kamala always wanted to have her end in home town in kerala when asked the culture minister M A Baby she said that funeral will take place at the Palayam Juma Masjid here [on] Tuesday.” but nobody seemed to show any problem on her order confirmed while Monu who was one his way to Pune.

Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said Kamala Das’s death was an irreparable loss to the country and the state.
